MeKo’s: US office is in Minneapolis, its European HQ is in Sarstedt (nr. Hannover) Germany. MeKo is a globally active supplier specialized in laser material processing. With more than 25 years of experience in laser cutting, laser drilling and laser welding of metals and other materials, MeKo has evolved to produce critical components for medical devices and implant technology. MeKo’s customer component designs are produced from tubing or sheet metals in compliance with complex drawings and specifications. The manufacturing processes are adaptable to produce a wide range of medical devices such as stents, heart valve frames.
Offering
This is a key role working with a small team based in the Minneapolis area as part of the the strategic development and growth of MeKo in North America. The organization provides an opportunity to work with cutting edge technology (pun intended), that improves outcomes in adult and pediatric life expectancy. An ideal candidate will have been successful, working in a customer solutions/ business development role in the Medical Device / Component sector or metal cutting sector, with a proven ability to grow a customer base by positioning the company in targeted channels. They will be an entrepreneurial thinking engineer bringing enthusiasm in acquiring new business as well as managing key accounts.
This role will work with a hands-on approach with all levels of the organization in developing the business for MeKo’s outstanding customized manufacturing services to the medical component industry. Position
As Business Development Manager, North America you will
Join an existing team of professionals that are already working with top medical device companies in the US and across the globe
Identify potential clients in the medical device ecosphere
Develop and build relationships with multiple stakeholders across all layers of our customers organizations
Be part of the customer solutions team from initial contact through production and delivery of high precision components
Be the eyes and ears of MeKo with stakeholders and the advocate of perfection to the client
Understand the cost of raw materials and their influence on the end-product
Discover trends and recognize opportunities within North American Market
Liaise constantly with colleagues in purchasing, design, product development, production, and logistics in Germany
Provide and receive, advice and consultation from engineering colleagues in all levels of the business
Collaborate with clients and colleagues in ensuring best outcomes
Enthusiastically spend approx. 40% of time face to face with clients and enjoy 60% of time with your colleagues developing ideas to satisfy customer needs and challenges. Primarily in-office with home office flexibility .

What we are looking for Education/ Experience/ Skills
Minimum of 3, ideally > 5 years engineering sales experience in both consultative and tactical selling
Minimum BS in Engineering or Technical/Scientific field or BA/BS in Business Administration/Marketing - postgraduate advantageous
Demonstrated Business Development / Sales Experience across multiple states
Experience in explaining and supporting highly sophisticated products
Excellent stakeholder relationship builder and skilled negotiator
Passionate about customers and clients - and the patience and tenacity to follow projects through in detail
Experience in identifying target markets and producing outcome driven results
An understanding of the pain points of all stakeholder’s in the design, development and purchasing decision process
Excellent organization and time-management skills / an ability to balance professional and personal life
Ability to communicate and interact effectively and persuasively with all levels and functions in a Med. Device environment
A “can-do” attitude that finds solutions, an enthusiasm to collaborate, and ability to engage with a team
Diplomacy and tenacity to convey the US business needs internally, the capability to translate HQ strategy into action
The patience to work with complex processes and detail that delivers fantastic end results
Musts
Ability to travel 40% of the time domestically
Ability to travel internationally, Germany 2 x p.a.
Ability to travel to the EU Visa Free / Hold a current passport
